Description
There issomething nice and special about the people who love plants . * . * . Welcome to our Beautiful World of Gardening! . * . * . Our garden is 100% organic. We do not use any chemicals You will receive : 10 plants of Red Raripila Mint This is fairly rare and little known variety with very strong mint flavor. Probably the strongest mint flavor you can find. USDA hardiness Zones 5-9 You will receive the plants looking like multiple roots with some leaves. They look like vines. The stems are rectangular, green, red or burgundy in color. Please note that the red and burgundy tones appear under some conditions like light and temperature. I do not remember when, but some of my buyers wanted burgundy only leaves. This is why I am explaining the colors situation here. I am also adding two photos taken in late October , when the leaves are green and the stems are slightly burgundy . Again, please do not assume that the leaves and stems are ALWAYS burgundy in color. The leaves are relatively small and glossy. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ During hot and cold weather I may cut off older leaves. This will help the plant recover from the travel in the dark shipping box. Then the plant will start growing new leaves. Wilted leaves mean that you should place the plant roots ASAP in water for 2-4 days. Keep the plant in the shade , and never under direct sun light - for the next 10 days. Please use water spray bottle to expedite the recovery. If you place the plant under direct sunlight - you will damage existing leaves. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I am an old retired gardener. I am still growing some plants and am trying to sell them on ebay, to generate some income. I can't work for free. Wilted leaves do not mean that the plant is dead. Wilted leaves is NOT a valid reason for a refund or replacement. I can't work for free, growing and preparing plants, making custom shipping boxes, paying for the shipping, tracking the package and figuring out why the USPS kept it here or there for so many days, and then writing back and forth, arguing with you about an inexpensive item. If you disagree with the above statements, or you "may" allow the plant to sit in your hot or freezing mailbox for hours or you placed the plant under scorching sunlight - to subsequently take photos of the wilted or sun-damaged leaves and ask for a refund -- PLEASE - P L E A S E do NOT buy from me ! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ D isease resistant, grow vigorously, attracts pollinators. Red raripila means fantastic herbal tea ... It does great job killing germs in my mouth, and keeping my teeth and gums healthy. My dentist does not know what to do with me for years -- there is no problem for her to work on! :) Not to mention my calm reactions to whatever happens :) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A member of the family Lamiaceae, red raripila mint plants (Mentha x smithiana) are hybrid plants composed of the corn mint (Mentha arvensis), watermint (Mentha aquatica), and spearmint (Mentha spicata). More commonly used in Northern and Central Europe , acquiring red raripila plants may require a bit more research, as other mint varieties are more popular in the United States and Canada, but well worth the effort for its lovely green/red leaves with red stems. Extremely popular to bees and butterflies makes the red raripila mint susceptible to cross hybridization. Growing red raripila mint plants are, however, not attractive to deer , making them a nice addition to rural landscapes. Red raripila mint is also a great companion plant to vegetable crops such as cabbages and tomatoes as they act as a deterrent to troublesome insect pests. It may be a bit more of a challenge to obtain these plants in North America , but if one does obtain seed, be aware that this little hybrid is generally sterile and thus, the seed will usually not breed true. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Will be delivered from a clean, smoke-free home in Virginia.
