Just as Varun Dhawan was receiving rave reviews for his performance in Citadel: Honey Bunny, a fan joked about his semi-nude scene in the series. The actor took it in his stride and playfully replied to the X user.
A small segment in Citadel: Honey Bunny features a semi-nude Varun Dhawan. The actor, who has been replying to fans and critics about their take on the show, left the Internet in splits with his response.
The social media user wrote, “#CitadelHoneyBunny: 3 episodes dekhe abhi tak and maza aaraha ha (Have watched three episodes and it looks fun). #VarunDhawan looks solid nailing it and #Samantha is also killing it. Varun ke liye bura lagta ha bhai. Har director usko nanga dikhana chahta ha (Feel bad for Varun. Every director shows him nude).”
To this, Varun wrote, “Pura show mein mainly kapda Hi paane hain maine woh bhi dekhlo (In the whole show, I’ve mostly just worn clothes—see that too)”, with multiple laughter emojis.

His sincerity is visible in every frame. This is probably the first time that a director didn’t treat him like a fluff in a movie, as just a macho crowd-puller, or tried to force his intensity on-screen. Bunny seemed perfect. Like a man who will never lose his calm in the face of adversity because he knows what’s at stake. Varun’s performance seems controlled. As if he has finally cracked the art of neither exploding on-screen and making it all about himself, nor concealing what he’s really supposed to convey in a scene. In Citadel, he seems to have found that perfect balance as an actor.”
Apart from Varun Dhawan, Citadel: Honey Bunny also stars Samantha. The Prime Video show released on November 7. It is the Indian chapter of the American series starring Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden.
